APOLOGY TO MR PETER BEATTIE



Yesterday morning in a news story (ke: Ettridge) reporting David Ettridge's submission
to the Australian Crime Commission, AAP attributed to Mr Ettridge a claim that Queensland
Premier Peter Beattie politically pressured a Supreme Court judge into jailing Mr Ettridge
and Pauline Hanson.

AAP acknowledges that Mr Ettridge made no claim in those terms.

AAP withdraws any suggestion that Mr Beattie did exert such pressure or that by doing
so he committed a criminal offence in relation to the administration of justice.

AAP apologises for any embarrassment or distress caused to Mr Beattie by its report.
